Job summary

CCL is seeking a Shipping & Receiving Associate in Strongsville, OH to support incoming and outgoing materials in the TRP warehouse. You will load/unload trucks, operate a lift truck, package, label, and maintain organized inventory with accurate documentation.

The role requires attention to detail, ability to verify paperwork, use ASN notifications, and coordinate deliveries while ensuring safety and lean practices. Training will be provided as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous shipping & receiving experience preferred.
• Experience with lift trucks and cycle counts is a plus.
• Ability to read supplier paperwork and ASN.

Responsibilities

• Follow all corporate policies, including attendance and safety.
• Verify quantity against supplier paperwork.
• Wrap, label, paperwork, and confirm testing for shipments leaving the facility; transmit ASN when applicable.
• Identify, label and store materials in pre-designated areas.
• Coordinate deliveries; assist in safely loading/unloading vehicles.
• Be motivated toward productivity improvements, safety and quality awareness.
• Keep work areas safe and clean at all times (docks, receiving area, aisles, workstations, pallets).
• Properly inspect and maintain material handling equipment before shift per OSHA.
• Verify inventory through weekly cycle counting.
• Lifting of ~30 lbs. unaided from floor to chest frequently.
• Think ahead, anticipate problems, make decisions and take action.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Follow all corporate policies, including attendance and safety.
• Verify quantity against supplier paperwork. (i.e. Packing Slip / Bill of Lading)
• Wrap, label, prepare paperwork and confirm quality testing for all shipments leaving the facility, and transmit ASN (Advanced Shipping Notification) when applicable.
• Identify, label and store materials in pre-designated areas.
• Coordination of deliveries, which involves assistance in safely loading/unloading of vehicles.
• Must be motivated towards productivity improvements, safety and quality awareness.
• Keep work areas safe/clean at all times including but not limited to: Outside docks, receiving area, all aisles, workstations, excess pallet wrap hanging off skids.
• Properly inspect and maintain material handling equipment prior to start of shift in accordance with OSHA regulation.
• Verify inventory through weekly cycle counting.
• Lifting of ~30 lbs. Unaided from floor to chest frequently.
• Ability to think ahead, anticipate problems, make decisions and take action.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Previous shipping/receiving experience (domestic/international) preferred
• Computer skills: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Lotus notes, UPS World Ship and Fed-Ex Power ship.
• Minimum of 1 year QAD or equivalent experience preferred.
• ASN database experience preferred.
• Ability to maintain and record accurate information both manually and electronically.
• Strong math, and organizational skills.
• Excellent internal and external communication skills
• Ability to work in a "TEAM" environment.
• Properly utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) where required.
• Commitment to perform tasks correctly the first time.
• Understanding of Lean manufacturing concepts. (ELS)
• CCL will provide training where needed

Physical Requirements:

• Periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to drive a lift truck, and lift up to 30 pounds at times.
