Simply Great Staffing in Kent, WA is hiring a Shipping & Receiving Associate – Electrical Materials. This full-time, temp-to-hire role supports a distributor by receiving freight, verifying part numbers, staging materials, and shipping orders with precision.

The schedule is Mon–Fri, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, at $21.00/hr, reporting to the Warehouse Manager, with no supervisory duties. Ideal candidates have 2+ years in shipping/receiving, strong attention to detail, and the ability to operate PIT

Qualifications

• 2+ years of shipping/receiving, stocking and handling specialty materials preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in material handling and documentation.
• Willingness to learn all warehouse operations.
• Ability to operate PIT equipment including forklifts and reach trucks.
• Basic math skills and intermediate computer usage.

Responsibilities

• Receive and verify incoming freight, ensuring correct part numbers and quantities.
• Process returns with proper documentation and accuracy.
• Stock and stage inventory in correct locations.
• Pick, pack, and prep orders for shipment with accuracy.
• Maintain organized staging areas and clean warehouse.
• Operate forklift, reach truck, pallet jack and related equipment safely.
• Use a Microsoft-based system to keep records up to date.
• Collaborate with team as needed.

Shipping & Receiving Associate – Electrical Materials

About the Role

Simply Great Staffing is teaming up with a well-established electrical materials distributor in Kent, WA to hire a detail-driven Shipping & Receiving Associate. This is a full-time, temp-to-hire opportunity — a great chance to prove yourself and land a permanent spot with a solid company.

In this role, you'll be the backbone of the warehouse — receiving incoming freight, verifying every part number and quantity, staging project materials, and shipping orders out the door with pinpoint accuracy. Every pallet you touch keeps a jobsite moving.

Position Details

• Location: Kent, WA
• Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Employment Type: Full-Time, Temp-to-Hire
• Pay Rate: $21.00/hr.

What You'll Be Doing

• Receiving and verifying incoming freight, including specialized project materials — making sure quantities and part numbers are spot‑on
• Checking in, documenting, and processing customer returns accurately
• Stocking and stowing inventory (including project‑specific material) in the correct locations
• Picking, packing, staging, and prepping project and stock orders for shipment with a sharp eye on accuracy
• Keeping project staging areas organized to prevent material mix‑ups
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized warehouse
• Processing vendor returns with proper documentation
• Safely operating warehouse equipment — forklift, reach truck, pallet jack, etc.
• Using a Microsoft-based computer system to keep records accurate and up to date
• Jumping in as a team player wherever needed

What We’re Looking For

Minimum Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience in shipping & receiving, stocking, picking/packing, and handling specialty materials (preferred)
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in material handling and documentation
• Willingness to learn all aspects of industry‑specific warehouse operations
• Ability to safely operating powered industrial trucks (PIT), including forklifts and reach trucks
• Basic math skills
• Intermediate computer skills
• Great attitude and strong work ethic

Preferred Qualifications:

• Forklift certified
• Prior experience in electrical material distribution or the electrical construction industry
• Experience unloading and receiving freight with high accuracy requirements

Physical Requirements

• Able to lift 75 pounds
• Able to squat, kneel, bend, and twist throughout the shift
• Able to stand and work on a concrete floor for the full shift
• Able to climb ladders to pull material
• Comfortable with constant movement and heavy lifting

Working Conditions

Warehouse environment with some outdoor work. Expect occasional exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures depending on the season.
