Job summary

North West Rubber Colorado in Houston, TX is seeking a Shipping/Receiving Associate to support day-to-day warehouse operations including receiving, storage, picking, packing and shipping.

The role requires 2-3 years manufacturing experience, forklift familiarity, ERP experience, and strong communication. It is a full-time, on-site role with opportunities for overtime and a benefits package.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Experience with shipping forms and terminology (BOL, Packing Slip, COO, COC).
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP, EPICOR, ORACLE) and MS Word/Excel/Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Handle day-to-day warehouse operations: receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping.
• Communicate with supervisor and provide status updates.
• Correspond with establishment representatives to rectify problems.
• Operate forklift or manually move materials as required.
• Record material receipts and conduct cycle counts in ERP.
• Follow health and safety guidelines and keep area clean.
• Maintain safe operation of vehicles and equipment.
• Complete safety trainings including working at heights and lift operations.
• Maintain organization and cleanliness in the warehouse.

Shipping/Receiving Associate - Houston, Texas

Department: Shipping & Receiving

Employment Type: Full-Time

Minimum Experience: Experienced

Compensation: $18-$23 DOE

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Day-to-day warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping & communicate with supervisor.


• Correspond with establishment representatives to rectify problems, status updates, etc.


• Unload, uncrate, or unpack materials and transport to designated inventory location or proper disposal area using forklift or by hand as appropriate.


• Perform computer transactions, including input of material receipts, cycle counts, stock adjustments, etc.


• Follow all health and safety guidelines and protocols.


• Maintain high standards of organization and cleanliness.


• Perform safe work practices as well as safe operation of vehicles and equipment.


• Complete all required safety training including working at heights.


• Complete all required training for forklift, scissor lift, and boom lift operation.

Requirements

• 2-3-year experience working in a manufacturing environment.


• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment that is fast paced.


• A Team Player who constructively contributes to a positive environment


• Ability to communicate information (in small groups) to other employees.


• Must be prepared to work extra overtime hours when required.


• Knowledge of Shipping & Receiving forms & terminology (BOL, Packing Slip, COO, COC, etc.)


• Good legible penmanship


• Previous forklift experience


• Able to lift up to 50lbs.


• Experience with MS Word / Excel / Outlook


• Excellent written and verbal communication


• Experience with ERP systems (SAP, EPICOR, ORACLE)
