Top Echelon Software LLC in Harlan, Iowa seeks a Shipping & Receiving Associate to verify outgoing shipments and prepare items for shipment. You will label, pack, and track shipments and maintain shipping supplies on site. The role involves clerical data entry and coordinating with departments.

1–2 years shipping/receiving experience, measurement device familiarity, and HS HazCom knowledge are important. Forklift or overhead crane experience is a plus and training is provided.

Qualifications

1-2 years of hands-on shipping and receiving experience.
Experience with measurement devices a must.
Forklift experience a plus, will train.
Overhead crane experience a plus, will train.
Crating or carpentry experience a plus, will train.
UPS Worldship experience a plus.
Export paperwork experience a plus.
Understanding SDS/Hazcom shipping regulations.

Responsibilities

Verify and keep records on outgoing shipments and prepare items for shipment.
Determine the method of shipment and affix shipping labels.
Assemble containers and insert items into containers.
Post weights and shipping charges and affix postage.
Inspect shipments for accuracy and condition against orders and records.
Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
Operate forklift or hand-truck to move shipments.
Perform clerical data entry and keep files.
Deliver incoming goods to respective departments.

Salary: $18-22/hour

Job Summary of the Shipping & Receiving Associate:

The Shipping & Receiving Associate will verify and keeps records on outgoing shipments and prepare items for shipment.

Job Duties & Responsibilities of the Shipping & Receiving Associate:

Compares identifying information and counts weighs, or measures items of outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
Determines the method of shipment.
Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons.
Assembles wooden or cardboard containers or selects preassembled containers.
Insert items into containers.
Nails covers on wooden crates and binds containers with metal tape.
Stamps, stencils, or glues identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers.
Posts weights and shipping charges, and affixes postage.
Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
Maintains the inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
Operates tier lift truck or uses hand-truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area.
Studies shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping schedules.
Inspect shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.
Counts, weighs, measures, or examines packaging and contents for conformance to company specifications.
Compares items packed with customer's orders and other identifying data.
Performs clerical tasks such as computer data entry, typing correspondence, and keeping files.
Delivers incoming goods to respective departments.
