Soap Creek Resources in Harlan, IA is seeking a Shipping & Receiving Associate to verify and prepare items for shipment. The role requires hands-on shipping/receiving experience and familiarity with measurement devices and shipping paperwork.

The ideal candidate has 1-2 years in shipping/receiving, forklift and overhead crane experience is a plus, and is willing to learn UPS Worldship and SDS/Hazcom regulations.

Formación

1-2 years of hands-on shipping and receiving experience.
Forklift experience a plus, will train.
Overhead crane experience a plus, will train.
Experience with measurement devices a must.
Crating or carpentry experience a plus, will train.
UPS Worldship experience a plus.
Export paperwork experience a plus.
Understanding SDS/Hazcom shipping regulations.

Responsabilidades

Verifies outgoing shipments against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
Determines the method of shipment and affixes shipping labels.
Assembles containers and inserts items into them.
Packs, stamps, or glues identifying information and shipping instructions.
Posts weights and shipping charges and affixes postage.
Operates lift equipment to move shipments to storage or work areas.
Studies shipping notices to determine priorities and methods.
Maintains inventory of shipping materials and completes clerical tasks.

Job Title: Shipping & Receiving Associate

Location: Harlan, Iowa

Salary: $18-22/hour

Job Summary of the Shipping & Receiving Associate:

The Shipping & Receiving Associate will verify and keeps records on outgoing shipments and prepare items for shipment.

Job Duties & Responsibilities of the Shipping & Receiving Associate:

Compares identifying information and counts weighs, or measures items of outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
Determines the method of shipment.
Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons.
Assembles wooden or cardboard containers or selects preassembled containers.
Insert items into containers.
Nails covers on wooden crates and binds containers with metal tape.
Stamps, stencils, or glues identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers.
Posts weights and shipping charges, and affixes postage.
Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
Maintains the inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
Operates tier lift truck or uses hand-truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area.
Studies shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping schedules.
Inspect shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.
Counts, weighs, measures, or examines packaging and contents for conformance to company specifications.
Compares items packed with customer's orders and other identifying data.
Performs clerical tasks such as computer data entry, typing correspondence, and keeping files.
Delivers incoming goods to respective departments.
