Job summary

Job Juncture is recruiting for a Shipping & Receiving Associate in Iowa. The role involves verifying outgoing shipments, determining shipment methods, labeling, preparing containers, and moving goods to storage areas. A combination of hands-on shipping experience and basic clerical tasks is required.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years in shipping/receiving, forklift experience (trainable), and familiarity with SDS/HazCom regulations. Crane experience is a plus and training is provided where noted.

Qualifications

1–2 years of hands-on shipping and receiving experience.
Knowledge of SDS/HazCom shipping regulations is preferred.

Responsibilities

Verify outgoing shipments against bills of lading, invoices, or orders.
Determine shipment methods and apply shipping labels to cartons.
Prepare and assemble shipping containers and ensure proper sealing.
Move shipments using forklifts or hand-trucks.
Monitor packing quality and accuracy against customer orders.
Perform clerical duties such as data entry and filing.

Job Title: Shipping & Receiving Associate

Salary: $18-22/hour

Job Summary of the Shipping & Receiving Associate: The Shipping & Receiving Associate will v erify and keeps records on outgoing shipments and prepare items for shipment.

Job Duties & Responsibilities of the Shipping & Receiving Associate:

Compares identifying information and counts weighs, or measures items of outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
Determines the method of shipment.
Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons.
Assembles wooden or cardboard containers or selects preassembled containers.
Insert items into containers.
Nails covers on wooden crates and binds containers with metal tape.
Stamps, stencils, or glues identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers.
Posts weights and shipping charges, and affixes postage.
Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
Maintains the inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
Operates tier lift truck or uses hand-truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area.
Studies shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping schedules.
Inspect shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.
Counts, weighs, measures, or examines packaging and contents for conformance to company specifications.
Compares items packed with customer's orders and other identifying data.
Performs clerical tasks such as computer data entry, typing correspondence, and keeping files.
Delivers incoming goods to respective departments.
