Top Echelon Software, LLC is seeking a Shipping & Receiving Associate in Harlan, Iowa. The role handles verification, labeling, and preparation of outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy against bills of lading and orders.

Training is provided for forklift and overhead crane use, with emphasis on measurement devices and export paperwork. Responsibilities include selecting shipment methods, assembling containers, labeling, posting weights, and maintaining shipping materials inventory.

Qualifications

1-2 years of hands-on shipping and receiving experience.
Forklift experience a plus, will train
Overhead crane experience a plus, will train
Experience with measurement devices a must
Crating or carpentry experience a plus, will train
UPS Worldship experience a plus
Export paperwork experience a plus
Understanding SDS/Hazcom shipping regulations

Responsibilities

Compares identifying information and counts weighs, or measures items of outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
Determines the method of shipment.
Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons.
Assembles wooden or cardboard containers or selects preassembled containers.
Insert items into containers.
Nails covers on wooden crates and binds containers with metal tape.
Stamps, stencils, or glues identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers.
Posts weights and shipping charges, and affixes postage.
Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
Maintains the inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
Operates tier lift truck or uses hand-truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area.
Studies shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping schedules.
Inspect shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.
Counts, weighs, measures, or examines packaging and contents for conformance to company specifications.
Compares items packed with customer orders and other identifying data.
Performs clerical tasks such as computer data entry, typing correspondence, and keeping files.
Delivers incoming goods to respective departments.
