Job summary

Spacesaver Corporation in Wisconsin is seeking a dedicated Shipping/Receiving Clerk to manage staging, loading, and verifying shipments, and to perform incoming quality inspections. You will operate a forklift and overhead crane, use the ERP system (IFS), process RMAs, and maintain shipping inventory while supporting continuous improvement with safety and accuracy.

This role requires collaboration with the Shipping Supervisor and a team-driven approach.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 1-3 years forklift and overhead crane experience.
  • Willing to obtain Fork Truck and Overhead Crane Certifications.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Able to read English instructions and write simple correspondence.
  • Strong attention to detail and time management.
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Stage, label, and load finished product to storage areas or carriers.
  • Process Fed Ex and UPS packages.
  • Receive and verify counts of incoming materials and components.
  • Operate forklift and overhead crane to move materials.
  • Inspect and route incoming shipments; process MRBs with Sourcing.
  • Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
  • Use ERP system (IFS) to create shipments and run reports.
  • Process RMAs per internal and external requirements.
  • Transport product between plants and warehouses safely.
  • Complete required records and documentation; adhere to 5S principles.

Job Description
SHIPPING/RECEIVING

Reporting to the Shipping Supervisor, Shipper/Receivers: identify, stage, verifies, tracks, and records all incoming and outgoing shipments. Shipper/Receivers stage finished goods and load and unload trucks. Performs incoming quality inspections, processes MRBs in coordination with Strategic Sourcing.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities (tHE wHAT)

  • Stage, check, label/load finished product to specified storage areas and/or carriers. Process Fed Ex and UPS packages.
  • Receive, identify, verify counts, and audit incoming materials, products, and components to ensure conformance to requirements.
  • Understands part numbers and part usage.
  • Confirms identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, purchase requisitions or other records.
  • Uses forklift, hand trucks or overhead cranes to convey, move or hoist materials to proper department, areas, or trucks.
  • Unpacks, examines, and routes incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages. Receives and processes all defective parts returned for replacement or credit.
  • Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
  • Perform Standard Work by following Work/Operator Instructions/training.
  • Report defective materials or questionable conditions per the MRB (Material Review Board) process.
  • Meet or exceed the department’s production efficiency goals.
  • Understand and practice 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain).
  • Complete tasks as directed by manufacturing schedules with minimum supervision.
  • Support and participate in assignments in other work areas, as workload demands change.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities.
  • Complete all required record documentation.
  • Submit maintenance requests when required.
  • Use Spacesaver’s ERP system (IFS) to create shipments, run reports to confirm product status, perform scanning operations, create shipment documents, etc.
  • Process RMA (Return Material Authorization) goods per internal and external customer requirements.
  • Transport product between plants and warehouses while adhering to all safety and traffic regulations (non-CDL).
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Achievement of a passing score on Spacesaver’s Baseline Assessment
  • 1-3 years’ experience operating a forklift and an overhead crane and the ability to acquire Spacesaver’s Fork Truck and Overhead Crane Certifications
  • Solid PC familiarity, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and memos in the English language. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information one-on-one to other team members. *Please note that translation assistant can be provided through a request to HR.
  • Proven ability to perform scale weight counts, steel weight conversion of materials, and other unit of measures devices, as well as the ability read tape measures and efficiently operate all other required measuring devices such as calipers, scales, hardness tester, and other measuring equipment.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently.
  • Good time management and organizational skills, ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and be attentive to detail.
  • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record required to operate company vehicles
