Job summary

Opal Foods is seeking a Shipping & Receiving Technician for our Litchfield, MN processing location. This role handles cooler palletized cartons, crates of eggs, and warehouse receiving. Some weekend and holiday hours required.

Responsibilities include safety compliance, inventory counting, documenting incoming/outgoing loads, and maintaining cleanliness in the cooler and warehouse. Candidates must lift up to 80 lb, operate ride-on pallet jacks and forklifts, and communicate effectively in

Qualifications

• Experience operating ride-on pallet jack and forklift.
• Able to lift approximately 80 pounds from height of 2 feet to 5 feet and 50 pounds from 6 feet to ground level.
• Able to maintain a fast pace for up to 3 hours continually.
• Able to work in both cold and hot environments year-round.
• Good verbal communication skills and ability to develop rapport with drivers and co-workers.
• Ability to communicate verbally and verify documents in English.
• Must be dependable with flexible hours including weekends and holidays.
• Requires walking, standing, bending, twisting, lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching, manual dexterity.

• Count accurately and learn the automated inventory system.
• Set up work area and prepare for the day.
• Inspect and document incoming trailers for cleanliness and seals.
• Set outgoing refrigerated trailers to correct temperature.
• Load and seal pre-cooled trailers with finished product.
• Assign loads to drivers.
• Maintain organization and cleanliness of cooler and warehouse.
• Inspect and document incoming packaging materials and supplies.
• Unload deliveries into cooler and warehouse.
• Document inventory daily in cooler and warehouse.
• Support team with other duties as needed.

Shipping & Receiving Technician – Litchfield, MN

Opal Foods is currently accepting applications for the position of Shipping & Receiving for our Litchfield, MNprocessing location. This position is primarily responsible for working in the cooler shipping palletized cartons and crates of our eggs to vendors and customers, and also working in the warehouse receiving product packaging and other supplies, and counting inventory. May assist with other projects and duties as needed. Working hours include some weekend and holiday hours to meet customer requirements. Must have excellent work ethic and be extremely reliable and punctual.

Position Responsibilities:

Requirements: (knowledge, experience, skills, education)

• Experience operating ride-on pallet jack and forklift
• Able to lift approximately 80 pounds from height of 2 feet to 5 feet and lift 50 pounds from 6 feet to ground level
• Able to maintain a fast pace for up to 3 hours continually
• Able to work in both cold and very hot environments – Requires year-round work including outdoors, in cooler, in warehouse, in cooled trailers and in very hot trailers during summer months
• Good verbal communication skills and the ability to develop professional rapport with a diverse group of drivers and co-workers
• Ability to communicate verbally and verify documents in English
• Must be dependable and be able to work flexible hours any day of the week, including weekends and holidays
• Requires walking, standing, turning, twisting, lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching, manual dexterity, eye-hand coordination
