Job summary

Amentum in United States, California, Herlong is seeking a Warehouse Material Handler to receive, inspect, store and ship materials for DoD programs. You will use barcode tools, perform inventory counts, and ensure safety and compliance while handling a variety of supply items. The role requires lifting and standing, a valid license, and the ability to obtain security clearance.

• Must be available for any shift, must be willing to work weekends and other hours as needed.

Responsibilities

• Receives materials and performs receiving inspection in accordance with documented procedures.
• Check stocks for damage or expiration in accordance with shelf-life management procedures.
• Conduct inventories using bar code wands, labeling equipment, laser scanning equipment, and computer terminals; CAC may be required.
• Perform material handling and stock clerk activities for safe movement of materials to storage or issue points.
• Process transactions in inventory management systems; may use ULLS-G or other systems per task orders.
• Prepare materials for shipment following packaging and preservation procedures.
• Store materials per master storage matrix and ensure proper care of stored supplies.
• Package, label, and load shipments into vehicles.
• Operate tools and equipment as approved by management.
• Count, weigh, record data, create and apply tags/labels.
• Work environments may alternate between outdoor and indoor; potential environmental hazards.
• Work with a wide variety of supply items from DoD and contractor activities.
• Inspect and repair all classes of supply including ESAPI plates.
• Follow safety rules and wear required PPE.
• Maintain workspace through housekeeping and maintenance duties.
• Performs all other duties as assigned, requested, or related, unless excluded by the description or collective bargaining agreement.

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:

Typical warehouse environment with no unusual hazards, frequent lifting up to 20-60 pounds, kneeling, standing, and walking, routinely sitting and constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must possess planning/or organizing skills, and musts be able to work under deadlines. Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance. Position may require travel.

Compensation & Benefits

HIRING HOURLY Rate of Pay: $25.94 (Hourly rate set by CBA)

This position includes a competitive benefits package, to include:

• Employees are provided with $7.50 per hour paid, up to 80 hours per pay period for the purchase of the following benefits: medical, dental, AD&D insurance, vision, life insurance, long-term disability, employee assistance program, and short-term disability.
• Paid vacation. Annual allotment in the form of a biweekly accrual as follows: 144 hours for 0-5 years of service, 194 hours for 5-10 years of service, 224 hours for 10-15 years of service, and 264 for more than 15 years of service.

• 11 Paid holidays annually (prorated dependent on hire date)
