Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Warehouse Associate to support warehouse operations, moving and storing goods, operating forklifts, and maintaining safety and quality standards.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 12 months of related experience, a valid driver's license, and the ability to pass security and medical screening. Flexibility for shifts, including weekends, is needed, with a competitive hourly pay and benefits.

  • Valid driver's license and ability to operate a government general-purpose vehicle.
  • Position may require travel.
  • Ability to pass and maintain Security Clearance.
  • Must be able to speak English.
  • Must pass pre-employment physical and urinalysis.
  • Available for any shift, including weekends and other hours.
  • Must obtain/maintain facility credentials; US Citizenship required for credentials.

Responsibilities

  • Moving goods on pallets or in crates according to storage requirements and procedures.
  • Stacking goods in correct storage bays per inventory control instructions.
  • Ensure loads are secure; palletize, ship, and move material as needed.
  • Unload materials from incoming vehicles and place in assigned locations.
  • Perform daily equipment checks (battery recharge, lubrication).
  • Dispose of waste/recyclables and manage material handling equipment.
  • Locate and move stock to pallets or crates for storage/shipment.
  • Identify damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies.
  • Conduct inventories using barcode wands, scanners, or terminals.

Job description

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Moving goods packed on pallets or in crates around the storage facility, according to storage requirements, shelf-life regulations, and staging procedures.

  • Stacking goods in the correct storage bays, following inventory control instructions.

  • Ensuring loads are properly secure, including performing material handling procedures to correctly stack, palletize, ship, and move material.

  • Stacking and storage of empty pallets, crates, etc.

  • Performing daily equipment checks such as recharging the truck’s battery and lubricating equipment.

  • Unloading materials and merchandise from incoming vehicles and stacking them to assigned places.

  • Disposal of waste materials/recyclables through the use and movement of machine hoppers, roll-offs, and other required equipment.

  • Locate and move stock of products to pallets or crates for storage or shipment.

  • Identify damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies.

  • Perform a variety of warehousing duties that require an understanding of the establishment’s storage plan.

  • Rearrange and take inventory of stored materials, examines stored materials and reports deterioration and damage. Removes material from storage and prepares it for shipment.

  • This position can alternate between outdoor and indoor environments, potentially exposing employees to environmental hazards.

  • Operate tools and equipment in performance of duties as approved per management.

  • Conducts assigned portions of inventories. Uses bar code wands, labeling equipment, laser scanning equipment, and/or computer terminals. May require a CAC for system access.

  • Operates a manually controlled gasoline, electric or liquid propane gas powered forklift to transport goods and materials of all kinds within a warehouse.

  • Observes and follows all safety rules and procedures, including wearing required personal safety equipment.

  • Performs all housekeeping and maintenance duties as needed to ensure workspace upkeep.

  • Performs all other duties as assigned, requested, or related, unless otherwise excluded by this description or the established collective bargaining agreement.

Minimum Requirements:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.

  • Twelve months job related experience and/or training is required.

  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and be able to operate a government general-purpose vehicle.

  • Position may require travel.

  • Position requires the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.

  • Must be able to speak, read and understand English.

  • This position requires the candidate to pass a pre-employment physical examination and urinary analysis.

  • Must be available for any shift, must be willing to work weekends and other hours as needed.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. Note: US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:


Typical warehouse environment with no unusual hazards, frequent lifting up to 20-60 pounds, kneeling, standing, and walking, routinely sitting and constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must possess planning/or organizing skills, and musts be able to work under deadlines. Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance. Position may require travel.

Compensation & Benefits

HIRING HOURLY Rate of Pay:$26.49 (Hourly rate set by CBA)

This position includes a competitive benefits package, to include:

  • Employees are provided with $7.50 per hour paid, up to 80 hours per pay period for the purchase of the following benefits: medical, dental, AD&D insurance, vision, life insurance, long-term disability, employee assistance program, and short-term disability.

  • Paid vacation. Annual allotment in the form of a biweekly accrual as follows: 144 hours for 0-5 years of service, 194 hours for 5-10 years of service, 224 hours for 10-15 years of service, and 264 for more than 15 years of service.

  • 401k

  • 11 Paid holidays annually (prorated dependent on hire date)
