Job summary

Mars Incorporated is seeking a Shipping Operator for Royal Canin in Lebanon, TN to provide shipping and transfer support to the Production Team, ensuring products are staged, tracked, and shipped to meet quality and service targets.

The role requires a 12-hour night shift (4 on/4 off) with a $3 shift differential; candidates must be forklift certified, have logistics experience, and be able to operate WMS and perform cycle counts and documentation.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Relevant logistics/transportation experience.
• Forklift certification required.
• Basic knowledge of Warehouse/Transportation Management Systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety & quality in warehouse and shipping operations.
• Adhere to Mars Inc/Royal Canin Safety & Quality and Food Safety requirements.
• Service the Packaging Line and wrap pallets of finished product.
• Stack empty bags for Packaging Line as necessary.
• Stage Finished Product in Warehouse or trailer and prepare trailers for loading.
• Load Trailers with Finished Product and unload production supplies from trailers.
• Escalate issues to Shipping Coordinator, Warehouse Coordinator, Shift Manager and/or Flow Manager.
• Assist in maintaining inventory accuracy and control (cycle counts).
• Verify all required documentation including quality, production, and sanitation records.
• Ensure Master Sanitation Schedule is executed and 5S is practiced.
• Perform changeovers and briefings with oncoming/off-going team.
• Drive 5S improvements and oversee forklift charging/equalization schedule.

Job Purpose/Overview

The purpose of this role is to provide shipping and transfer support to the Production Team. This role is also intended to ensure our product is staged for Production use, audited, handled, stored, and shipped and readily tracked efficiently while meeting our high-quality standards and maintaining targeted customer service levels.

Required Shift:

• 12-Hour shift
• Night shift is 6:00 pm to 6:30 am; 4 days on and 4 days off
• $3 Shift Differential included with Night Shift schedule.
• Shift Swapping is available after 6 months

Key Responsibilities

• Lead safety & quality in warehouse and shipping operations.
• Adhere to all Mars Inc/Royal Canin Safety & Quality and Food Safety requirements.
• Service the Packaging Line
• Wrap Pallets of Finished Product with Stretch-Wrap Material
• Stack empty bags for Packaging Line as necessary.
• Stack broken down cardboard boxes into case erector for Packaging Line as necessary
• Stage Finished Product in Warehouse and or trailer
• Prepare Trailer for Loading
• Load Trailers with Finished Product
• Unload Production Supplies (raw materials, packaging, pallets) from Trailers
• Escalate and report any issues to Shipping Coordinator, Warehouse Coordinator, Shift Manager and/or Flow Manager.
• Assist in maintaining inventory accuracy and control (cycle counts).
• Verify all required documentation including quality, production, and sanitation records.
• Ensure all flow housekeeping tasks are performed and the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) is executed.
• Perform a changeover and walkthrough (MSE CPs) with the oncoming and off-going team to discuss shipping-area status and to ensure
• cleanliness and safety.
• Drive for 5S Step-Change in shipping/warehouse Oversee and Maintain Forklift Charging/equalization schedule/Rack inspection
• Make sure that all Forklift Pre-Checks are completed
• Perform assigned task of master sanitation schedule of Extrusion Perform miscellaneous tasks the Supervisor or Warehouse Coordinator directs
• Assist in other production areas, as requested.

Shipping operators are accountable for safety, quality, and productivity.

Shipping operators will need to have an eye for driving continuous improvement and continuous improvement processes in shipping/warehouse operations.

Education & Professional Qualifications

• Relevant logistics/transportation experience.
