Job summary

Gestamp, a leading international automotive components manufacturer, is hiring a Materials Team Leader for the 2nd shift. You will oversee all shipping activities, coordinating on-time shipments to the Customer, and participate in day-to-day decision making in the shipping area.

The role requires SAP experience, strong analytical and math skills, and the ability to lead a team, train staff, and improve shipping processes while maintaining safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1-2 years of hands-on experience in manufacturing.
• Previous experience in manufacturing desired in either tier 1 or tier 2.
• SAP manufacturing experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety of all associates reporting to this position.
• Coordinate and prioritize shipments using Ship Tracking Report.
• Flexible to work overtime daily and weekends with short notice.
• Prepare shipping documentation for all shipments, including labels, ASN’s, and system updates.
• Adhere to Shipping Labels and scanning to Dock Staging Locations.
• Coordinate part number changes and timely delivery of finished assemblies to Mercedes-Benz, Vance AL.
• Ensure 100% accuracy of shipments to the customer.
• Respond quickly to customer calls with action plans.
• Lead standardized work practices documentation and execution of the shipping process.
• Assist team members in continuous improvement of shipping operations.
• Perform all job-related functions as needed and be a team player.
• Train team members on defined Standard Processes & Procedures.
