Job summary

Qualifications

• The candidate must be able to pass the BAFTE’s background check for the handling of pyrotechnics.
• Must have prior experience working in a Shipping or Warehouse environment.
• Proficient with operating a standup reach truck is mandatory.
• Proficient with operating a sit-down forklift is mandatory.
• Prior experience working with RF scanners and computers is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate stand-up reach trucks and sit-down forklifts to transport, load, and unload products.
• Inspect forklifts daily before operation and report issues or malfunctions.
• Utilize RF scanners to transact and move material to/from storage.
• Use computers to track and manage inventory and orders.
• Assist with stock checks or audits.
• Operate other powered industrial/warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
• Load, unload, and stack materials according to procedures.
• Transport goods from receiving areas to storage/shipping areas.
• Follow safety procedures and company policies.
• Keep work areas clean and organized.
• Assist with other general warehouse duties as needed.
• Ensure use of PPE as required.

Job Summary

The Shipping Material Handler handles, moves, and stores materials within the warehouse. The Material Handler’s main duties include loading and unloading different transport items, recording inventory status, and making sure deliveries properly match purchase orders.

Schedule

Primary Duties and Responsibilities/ Essential Functions

• Safely operate both stand-up reach trucks and sit-down forklifts to transport, load, and unload products.
• Inspect forklifts daily before operation and report any issues or malfunctions
• Utilize RF scanners to properly transact and move material to and from storage.
• Use computers to track and manage inventory, ensuring accuracy in order processing and shipments.
• Assist with stock checks or audits
• Operate other powered industrial /warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
• Operate and handle computer data entry through Oracle, Discoverer, and Microsoft applications
• Load, unload, and stack materials and products according to company procedures
• Transport goods from receiving areas to storage or shipping areas as required
• Always follow all safety procedures and company policies
• Keep work areas clean and organized
• Assist with other general warehouse duties as needed
• Ensure the use of Personal Protective Equipment as required

Skills & Qualifications

Required:

• The candidate must be able to pass the BAFTE’s background check for the handling of pyrotechnics. Basically , no felonies or arrests for violence or drug related charges.
• Must have prior experience working in a Shipping or Warehouse environment.
• Proficient with operating a standup reach truck is mandatory.
• Proficient with operating a sit-down forklift is mandatory.
• Prior experience working with RF scanners and computers is mandatory.

Physical Demands/Working Conditions/Environment

The ability to operate powered industrial equipment standing or sitting for extended periods of time.

Must be able to step up and down, balance, stoop, reach, stand, walk, pull, push, lift, grasp, and do repetitive motions.

Must be able to move material from one pallet laying on the floor to another.

Must be able to lift to 40 pounds constantly, 60 pounds occasionally, and team lifting more than 60 pounds infrequently.

Must have the ability for close vision, distance vision and depth perception.

Must be able to work with dirt/dust, noise, and powered industrial equipment.

Must be able to work in hot and cold temperatures.

The use of high visibility outerwear and toe protection is required.
