Job Description: Supervisor, Shipping & Warehouse Distribution

Primary Duties

1. Supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in loading/unloading cargo, moving and storing containers, and managing transportation to customers and sister plants.
2. Ensure timely and condition-compliant delivery of products according to customer requirements.
3. Maintain safety standards by frequent site visits, addressing safety issues, and fostering a safety-conscious culture.
4. Adhere to ISO 9001 procedures and ensure quality standards in the Shipping Department.
5. Coordinate with internal teams and external carriers to verify and facilitate shipments.
6. Inspect products for quality and quantity compliance.
7. Oversee the operation and maintenance of the company's private fleet, ensuring regulatory compliance (DOT, CHP, CA Pull Notice).
8. Ensure compliance with Union Collective Bargaining Agreements.
9. Lead talent development, workforce planning, and continuous improvement initiatives within the department.
10. Manage inventory control, including month-end inventory and accuracy measures.
11. Drive cost savings and expense reduction measures.
12. Collaborate with Safety Manager to enforce safety protocols.
13. Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree preferred, or equivalent experience (5+ years) in related roles.
• Proficiency with computerized inventory control systems.
• Fluent in English, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, learn quickly, and follow established processes.
• Basic mathematical skills, including algebra, percentages, and volume calculations.
