Job summary

Georgia-Pacific is hiring a Shipping Manager at our Cleveland, TN Corrugated site to lead a hourly workforce and drive efficiency across shipping and warehouse operations.

You will focus on OTIF performance, inventory accuracy, and safe operations, while coordinating with Sales, Customer Service, and outside carriers to meet customer needs.

The role requires strong leadership, project management experience, and a track record of improving people, processes, and systems in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in a shipping/warehouse role within a manufacturing/industrial environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, systems engineering, supply chain management or similar.
• OSHA Train the Trainer Forklift Instructor certification.
• Experience with computerized inventory systems and ERP/WMS software.
• Project management experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of hourly employees to meet performance goals.
• Collaborate in OTIF planning and strategy meetings to improve OTIF.
• Promote PBM-based culture and safety.
• Oversee shipping, warehouse functions, and inventory accuracy across plant and 3rd party warehouses.
• Focus on shipping efficiencies for On Time and In Full deliveries.
• Coordinate with Sales and Customer Service to meet customer needs.
• Collaborate with outside carriers and vendors.
• Manage RCA completion and closure for external OTIF misses.
• Act as Chief Safety Officer for the site on Mobile Equipment.

Georgia-Pacific is now hiring a Shipping Manager at our Cleveland, TN Corrugated site. The Shipping Manager will utilize leadership, operations experience, and communication to identify and convert change improvement opportunities related to people, process, and systems.

Georgia-Pacific is a leading manufacturing company specializing in Paper, Packaging, Consumer, and Building Products.

What You Will Do

• Lead, motivate and develop a team of hourly employees to increase individual and overall business performance goals; Develop direct report development plans and people management strategies
• Collaborate in daily and weekly OTIF planning and strategy meetings, continuously striving for OTIF improvement
• Foster and develop a culture based on our Principle Based Management (PBM®)
• Promote a safety culture that will manufacture, warehouse, and deliver contaminate free products meeting all required product safety laws, regulations, and corporate policies
• Manage shipping and warehouse functions along with inventory accuracy for the plant and 3rd party warehouses
• Focus on shipping efficiencies for On Time and In Full customer deliveries
• Communicate with Sales and Customer Service teams to meet customer needs
• Collaborate with outside carriers to manage truck fleets along with outside vendors
• Evaluate deliveries, shipments, and product levels to improve inventory problems and shortages
• Managing RCA completion and action closure tracking on all external carrier/warehouse OTIF misses
• Chief Safety Officer for the site on Mobile Equipment

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Experience in a shipping/warehouse role in a manufacturing/industrial environment

What Will Put You Ahead

• Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, systems engineering, supply chain management or similar
• Prior experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment
• Certificated as an OSHA Train the Trainer Forklift Instructor
• Experience with computerized inventory systems
• Experience using ERP/WMS software systems
• Project Management Experience
