Job summary

Ferguson is seeking a Shipping Manager for its Appleton, WI facility. You will supervise a team of 9+ associates on a 1st shift starting at 7:30 AM, ensuring efficient loading, unloading, and accuracy of shipments.

Maintain a safe, productive warehouse and develop staff through training and performance management. The role requires a strong background in warehouse operations, 2+ years of supervisory experience, and familiarity with OSHA/DOT regulations.

Qualifications

• Strong background in warehouse operations (shipping, receiving, delivery, inventory).
• 2+ years in warehouse management or supervisory role.
• Familiar with OSHA and DOT regulations.
• Experience with Warehouse Management Systems like Highjump or Dispatch Track preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a team of 9+ warehouse associates on 1st shift (begins 7:30AM).
• Assist drivers loading trucks for multiple runs in various conditions.
• Maintain efficient, clean, and orderly warehouse space.
• Hire, train, and develop warehouse staff to maintain productivity.
• Oversee unloading, stocking, picking, and shipping with accuracy and timeliness.
• Ensure safety and PPE usage; report accidents and issues to branch management.
• Support picking process and maintain security of warehouse.
• Comply with safety regulations and weight limits (PPE, harness up to 400 lbs).

Ferguson is currently seeking a Shipping Manager to join our Appleton, WI warehouse!

Responsibilities

• Supervise a team of 9+ warehouse associates working a 1st shift schedule beginning at 7:30AM
• Responsible to assist drivers loading trucks for 1st and 2nd runs potentially in temperamental elements
• Ensure warehouse space is used effectively and kept clean and orderly
• Maintain and develop a productive warehouse by hiring, training, and providing professional development for all of its associates
• Supervise, coordinate, and participate in unloading and stocking of inbound shipments and the picking and shipping of outbound orders, ensuring accuracy and timeliness with both product and paperwork
• Maintain security of warehouse and safety of all associates and equipment, reporting any accidents and conveying any issues to branch management
• Responsible for assisting warehouse associates with picking process
• Must adhere to all safety regulations, including the correct usage of personal protective equipment (PPE). This includes wearing a safety harness with a maximum weight capacity of 400 lbs

Qualifications

• A strong background in Warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, delivery, and inventory is required
• 2+ years of warehouse management or supervisory experience
• Proficient in OSHA and DOT regulations
• Warehouse Management Systems, Highjump, Dispatch Track software experience preferred but willing to teach the right candidate
• Proficient with all Microsoft Applications required
• A strong attention to detail, leadership and organizational skills
• Ability to prioritize workload appropriately in order to balance multiple demands and meet timelines
• Phenomenal communication skills and the ability and desire to manage a team

Pay Range

$4,124.70 - $9,075.00

Estimated Ranges displayed are Monthly for Salaried roles OR Hourly for all other roles.

This role is Bonus or Incentive Plan eligible.
