Job summary

Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. in Plano, TX is seeking a Shipping Management Analyst to manage 60+ North American suppliers and ensure high-quality, on-time shipments to Toyota manufacturing plants worldwide.

Reporting to the Export & Supply Projects Manager, you will monitor on-time compliance, coordinate with cross docks, resolve disruptions, and support supplier readiness leading up to SOP. A Bachelor’s degree in supply chain or equivalent experience and SAP/S/4HANA proficiency are

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain/Operations/Business or 3 years of applicable work experience.
  • 3 years of experience in supply chain management.
  • Experience in fast-paced environments with multiple stakeholders and problem solving.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Export Shipping Management objective to ensure on-time shipping to overseas Toyota plants.
  • Monitor supplier on-time compliance and coordinate recovery plans.
  • Process and monitor air and trial orders for on-time delivery to overseas plants.
  • Engage with suppliers and cross docks to resolve supply chain issues.
  • Communicate with overseas customers about disruptions and actions taken.
  • Meet with cross docks and Logistics Ops to monitor freight flow and support teams.

Who we’re looking for

Toyota’s Export & Supply Project Department is looking for a passionate and highly-motivated Shipping Management Analyst.

The primary responsibility of this role is to Manage 60+ North American suppliers to ensure high quality & on-time shipping to Toyota manufacturing plants around the world. Reporting to the Export & Supply Projects Manager, the person in this role will support the Export & Supply Project department's objective to ensure high quality & on-time shipments to export customers.

What you’ll be doing
  • Support the Export Shipping Management department's objective to ensure the shipping of domestic parts to overseas Toyota plants are completed on time.
  • Monitor supplier on-time compliance, reschedule miss shipments and actively support supplier in recovery plans.
  • Process and monitor air and trial orders to ensure on-time delivery to overseas Toyota plants.
  • Engage with supplier(s)/cross docks to solve supply chain issues related to missed shipments, quality and shipping compliance.
  • Communicate directly with overseas customers regarding supply chain disruptions and actions being taken to resolve disruptions.
  • Meet regularly with cross docks and Logistics Operations to monitor freight flow in and out of the dock and support both groups where freight is not moving.
  • Train North American suppliers on export unique processes and support supplier readiness leading up to SOP.
What you bring
  • Bachelor’s degree (Supply Chain Management, Operations Management or Business Management) or 3 years of applicable work experience
  • 3 years of experience in supply chain management
  • 3 years of experience in fast-paced environment working with multiple stakeholders in problem solving and coordinating within supply chain operations
  • Strong problem solving, quality, process development and kaizen thinking
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel with knowledge and understanding to analyze data quickly and efficiently
  • Added bonus if you have Toyota supply chain management or logistics experience
  • Proven demonstration of problem-solving principles such as TBP or 5 why analysis
  • S/4 Hana (SAP) experience
