About the Role

We're seeking a hands-on Shipping & Logistics Manager to build and own a scalable, professionally run shipping, receiving, and logistics operation. This is a newly formalized function focused on reducing our shipping backlog, establishing external carrier relationships, and building efficient, repeatable logistics processes to support our growing manufacturing operation.

Responsibilities
  • Identify, vet, and establish accounts with external LTL and white-glove furniture carriers
  • Own carrier rate negotiation, service-level agreements, and ongoing carrier relationships
  • Coordinate LTL, white-glove, final-mile, and local deliveries
  • Manage quotes, BOLs, pickups, tracking, and delivery appointments
  • Own the shipping backlog and develop a plan to reduce it
  • Oversee freight claims, damage tracking, and resolution
  • Develop furniture packaging standards to reduce transit damage
  • Manage packaging materials and shipping supplies
Inventory & Warehouse Management
  • Own inventory accuracy for finished goods and outbound materials, including regular cycle counts
  • Manage shipping, receiving, staging, and finished-goods inventory
  • Establish organized, efficient warehouse staging and storage practices
  • Coordinate with manufacturing to plan upcoming shipments
Team & Process Leadership
  • Develop SOPs for shipping, receiving, and dispatch processes
  • Help lead and develop shipping/warehouse personnel
  • Monitor freight costs, carrier performance, and on-time delivery
  • Establish safety and organizational standards throughout the shipping/warehouse area
What We're Looking For
  • 3+ years of shipping, logistics, transportation, or warehouse experience
  • Experience with LTL, freight, final-mile, or large-item shipping
  • Carrier negotiation and freight-rate experience strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of BOLs, freight claims, tracking, and shipping documentation
  • Experience with inventory and shipping/receiving operations
  • Strong organization, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Furniture, manufacturing, or large-item logistics experience preferred
  • Must be able to work full-time, 100% on-site
Why Headboards World
  • Real ownership over building a logistics function from the ground up
  • Direct collaboration with ownership and leadership — this role reports directly to executive leadership
  • Growing company with genuine room to grow as the function scales
