Job summary

Wells Concrete is seeking a Shipping Assistant to support daily logistics by coordinating loads between architectural and structural plants and ensuring materials are ready for shipment. This role blends office work with on-site, boots-on-ground tasks, building and managing load tickets, tracking deliveries, and communicating with internal teams and external partners to keep shipments on schedule.

Qualifications

• High school education preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and shop tickets preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Team-oriented with strong coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate upcoming loads with plant crews for shipping preparation.
• Order and manage rental trailers for loading operations.
• Maintain trailer records including inspections, registration, and maintenance.
• Track physical location of trailers as they enter/exit property.
• Communicate with hauling companies to schedule and confirm deliveries.
• Create, print, and process shipping tickets using Concrete Vision.
• Enter completed load and delivery data into tracking systems.
• Coordinate delivery timing and requirements with erection and project teams.
• Track daily load progress to ensure on-time shipment to job sites.
• Assist with coordination of materials, hardware, and inter-plant transfers.
• Support maintenance coordination for trailers and transport equipment.
