Job summary

Flowers Foods in Houston, TX is seeking a Shipping/Loader position. You will pull orders, count, load and unload product on incoming and outgoing trailers according to the shipping schedule, and ensure activities meet product safety, legality and quality standards.

You must be physically capable of moving equipment up to 400 lbs and lifting containers up to 20 lbs, while following safety rules. There are no educational prerequisites, but you must be able to read, comprehend and record

Qualifications

• Six (6) or more months shipping or related experience.
• No educational prerequisite; ability to read, comprehend and record information relevant to the job.

Responsibilities

• Ensures that product received from production or other plants is recorded correctly.
• Load and unloads to appropriate distribution area to ensure that shipping schedules are met.
• Maintains cleanliness of work area.
• Practice and complies with all Company policies and procedures including safety and work rules, etc.
• Performance of other duties deemed by management as integral to the job, including fulfilling work schedules and attendance policies.
• Practices and complies with all Company policies and procedures (EEO, Harassment, Safety, Sarbanes Oxley, etc.).
• Physically capable of movement to all Shipping areas.
• Ability to exert force necessary to move wheeled equipment weighing 400 lbs, up to 100 feet.
• Ability to routinely stoop, bend, and lift product containers weighing 20 lbs.
• Ability to wear and use safety equipment as needed.
• Must meet/maintain food handling requirements for work in a food production environment.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical computations.
