Job summary

NRI 3PL in Los Angeles, CA is seeking a Shipping Lead to guide the Outbound team and ensure all shipments meet client and customer needs. You will lift 20–50 lb boxes and wrap pallets throughout the shift.

Responsibilities include training shipping staff, planning labor with the Shipping Supervisor, coordinating with Client Services, ensuring correct carrier loading and labeling, and maintaining a safe, tidy work area.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of shipping experience; lead experience is a plus.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Outlook.
• Bilingual Spanish/English preferred but not required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Oversee training and cross-training of shipping staff.
• Lead and delegate shipping tasks within SLA and vendor rules.
• Plan labor requirements with Shipping Supervisor and Client Services.
• Ensure outbound shipments are loaded and shipped with correct carrier.
• Generate and apply correct carton labels.
• Consolidate shipment requirements per Customer requests.
• Follow NRI safety rules and SOPs.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and tidy work area.
• Perform other duties as requested.

Shift Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm

Starting Pay

$21.50 per hour

All About You

What You’ll Bring to the Role:

• Experience with a warehouse management system (WMS)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multitask and prioritize duties, follow through assignments with a minimum of direction, and be extremely detail oriented
• Experience in leading shipping personnel to ensure all assigned activities are performed effectively and efficiently
• The ability to be flexible and adapt to changing priorities
• Trustworthy and moral character (we use pre-employment background & drug tests)

The Must Haves

• Must have 2+ years of prior experience in shipping, experience as a Lead is a plus
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred but not required
• Must have physical ability to carry out essential job functions, including but not limited to, the ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs., walking and standing for extended periods, climbing ladders/stairs, and tolerating conditions such as dust, dirt, noise, odors, heat, cold, etc.

Things You Will be Doing

• Oversee the training and cross-training of shipping employees
• Lead and delegate a variety of shipping tasks while working within SLA and vendor compliance requirements
• Collaborate with the Shipping Supervisor by planning labor requirements based on forecast and direction from the Client Services team
• Ensure outbound product are loaded and shipped according to assigned carrier
• Ensure custom retailer carton labels are generated and applied in the correct position
• Consolidate shipment requirements based off Customers' request
• FollowingNRI safety rules, safety procedures, security protocol and standard operating procedures (SOP)
• Keep work and storage areas in a safe, clean, and tidy condition at all times
• Perform other duties as requested
