• Knowledge of logistics and transportation processes including carrier coordination, scheduling, and freight issues.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with department supervisors and upper management; uses email groups to coordinate with sales and customers.
• Provides continuous email updates on products and shipments.
• Manages day-to-day reports of orders ready to ship.
• Tends to drivers and uses systems to identify orders to be loaded.
• Uses network software to route orders effectively.
• Keeps records of all motor freight leaving the facility.
• Ensures motor freight shipments are routed promptly.
• Matches shipments to loading forms for proper vehicle loading.
• Tracks motor freight pickups.
• Attends safety meetings and identifies departmental issues.
• Identifies areas for improvement while maintaining safety and cleanliness.
• Duties may expand as needed.

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for conducting day-to-day activities pertaining to all day-to-day orders for the Shipping Department. All while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Qualifications:

• Must have average reading, writing, and mathematical skills
• Capable of lifting 50 lbs. with back support
• Able to stand and operate a variety of equipment as assigned
• Takes initiative and can work independently
• Requires a high level of attention to detail
• Able to handle multiple tasks and priorities
• Demonstrated knowledge of logistics and transportation processes, including coordinating carriers, scheduling pickups, managing shipment priorities, and resolving freight-related issues

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift and stack objects up to 50 pounds occasionally and frequently exert 10 to 20 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, and pull or otherwise move objects
• Work involves long periods of standing, walking, kneeling, and reaching; may also include climbing ladders
