Job summary

Canfor- is seeking a Shipping Lead to support the safe and efficient operation of the shipping department. You will report to the Shipping Supervisor and work closely with team members and other departments to meet production goals and uphold high safety standards.

This full-time, first-shift role emphasizes hands-on leadership, coaching the crew, and driving continuous improvement on the floor. The ideal candidate brings 1–3 years in industrial settings and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment, preferably in shipping.
• Previous experience in a lead hand or informal leadership role.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and web-based applications.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Promote and maintain a strong safety culture by following all safety policies, procedures, and OSHA regulations.
• Identify and report unsafe conditions or behaviors and support corrective actions.
• Assist in coordinating daily production activities to meet safety, quality, and output targets.
• Provide on-the-floor leadership, coaching, and support to team members.
• Help train new employees and support skill development across the crew.
• Communicate effectively with the Shipping Supervisor, maintenance, and other departments to resolve issues and maintain workflow.
• Monitor product quality and assist with troubleshooting equipment or process issues.
• Support the implementation of operational initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
