Job summary

CMC is seeking team-oriented candidates to join our production and shipping teams. You will participate in safety programs, communicate issues, and help with daily housekeeping, loading orders, and processing shipments across cranes and forklifts.

Roles require the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work rotating shifts, and stay flexible for overtime. Training is provided to build skills in steel products and construction reinforcement.

Qualifications

• Must be a reliable team player in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to learn quickly and multitask effectively.
• Must be able to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Must comply with safety regulations and PPE use.

Responsibilities

• Participate in safety programs and uphold the safety culture.
• Communicate production issues and needs clearly.
• Perform daily housekeeping in work areas.
• Troubleshoot problems using knowledge and teamwork.
• Operate safely to prevent injuries and follow PPE rules.
• Operate overhead cranes and forklifts safely.
• Load orders onto trailers using overhead cranes.
• Assemble customer orders from stock and manage shipping areas.
• Assist in filling work and shipping orders.
• Ensure timely processing of orders and material movements.
• Assist in scanning/loading trucks and rail as needed.

What You'll Do

• Participate in the CMC Safety Programs and proactively uphold the CMC Safety Culture
• Effectively communicate with others about possible production issues, concerns, and needs
• Responsible for daily housekeeping duties including but not limited to immediate work area
• Troubleshoot work related problems using job knowledge, experience, and by communicating with others
• Work safely to prevent on the job injuries by always following safety rules and regulations including proper wearing of company PPE
• Ability to operate overhead cranes and forklifts safely and effectively.
• Assemble and load orders onto trailers for shipping using overhead cranes
• Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders in appropriate shipping/holding area
• Assist in filling work/shipping orders
• Ensure orders and material movements are processed accurately and on time to support production and shipping schedules
• Assist in scanning/ loading trucks and rail when assistance is needed.

What You'll Need

• Ability to work as a team player in a fast-paced environment with strong work ethic, attention to detail, and organizational skills
• Ability to work with exposure to extreme temperatures, chemicals, dust fumes and mists, uneven surfaces, loud noise, elevated work areas, and confined spaces
• Demonstrate dependability in attendance, work completions, and flexibility to meet business needs
• Must be able to learn quickly and multitask
• Some overtime will be required
• Willingness to work a rotating shift, including weekends and holidays
• Ability to work a rotating shift, including weekends and holidays
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and stand/walk for extended periods
• Ability to operate a forklift and overhead crane required
• Ability to stand for duration of a shift, up to 12 hours; frequent physical activity such as walking, climbing stairs or reaching to work with equipment throughout the entire shift

Your Education

• High School Diploma or GED required
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience preferred
