Job summary

Commercial Metals is seeking a hands-on team player for maintenance support in a fast-paced facility. You will assist with equipment, participate in safety programs, and help ensure smooth production through clear communication and timely reporting.

You will be involved in daily inspections, housekeeping, and executing tasks safely under management direction. The role requires willingness to work rotating shifts and overtime as needed to meet production goals.

Qualifications

• Team player in a fast-paced environment with strong work ethic, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work under exposure to temperature extremes, dust, noise, and confined spaces.
• Basic computer skills and dependability in attendance and task completion.
• Willingness to learn quickly, multitask, and work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist maintenance personnel when requested/needed.
• Participate in the CMC Safety Programs and uphold the Safety Culture.
• Communicate production issues, concerns, and needs clearly.
• Ensure daily inspection reports are filled out each shift.
• Maintain workplace housekeeping and safety standards.
• Report unsafe conditions immediately.
• Carry out tasks and activities safely and timely as directed by management.
• Troubleshoot work-related problems using job knowledge and team input.
• Wear PPE and follow safety rules to prevent injuries.
• Assemble customer orders from stock and place in shipping/holding area.

What You'll Do

• Assist maintenance personnel when requested/needed

• Work safely to prevent on the job injuries by always following safety rules and regulations including proper wearing of company PPE
• Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders in appropriate shipping/holding area

What You'll Need

• Ability to work as a team player in a fast-paced environment, with excellent strong work ethic, attention to detail, and organizational skills
• Ability to work with exposure to extremes in temperature, chemical, dust fumes and mists, uneven surfaces, loud noise, elevated work areas, and confined spaces
• Basic computer skills
• Dependability in attendance, work completion, and flexibility to meet business needs
• Must be able to learn quickly and multitask
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
• Willingness to work a rotating shift, including weekends and holidays
• Ability to work overtime as required, including planned schedules and unplanned emergency situations
• Ability to lift to 50 pounds, climb ladders and stairs, and stand for extended periods of time

Your Education

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
