Job summary

A-dec is seeking a Material Handler I in Newberg, OR to perform manual and clerical duties related to shipping components, finished goods, and materials. You will ensure compliance with HazMat shipping requirements and work closely with other handlers to meet daily production goals.

The role requires accurate documentation, record-keeping, and operating ERP and shipping software. A valid driver's license and willingness to drive a company vehicle are preferred.

Qualifications

• HazMat certification required or to be obtained within 90 days.
• Ability to interpret picking lists to pull shipment-ready products.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, to resolve discrepancies with departments.
• Proficiency in basic math with decimal/fraction understanding.
• Experience using shipping tools and equipment (scales, shipping systems, computers).

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with other Material Handlers to meet daily production targets and goals.
• Maintains productivity standards and follows safety guidelines.
• Supports order fulfillment, including picking, packing, and preparing shipping documents (BOL, invoices).
• Receives and stores parts, records serial numbers and production orders, and manages change logs.
• Manages HazMat shipping processes per regulations and uses appropriate documentation.
• Performs consolidation and kitting by reading production orders and checklists.
• Recommends carriers for cost-effective shipping and performs final audits before dispatch.
• Regularly uses ERP and shipping software to access product and shipping information.
• May drive company truck to pickup/deliver products.
