Job summary

Vienna Beef in Ohio is seeking a Forklift Operator-Shipping to load and unload trucks and stage orders for shipping. You will follow FIFO protocols and ensure pallets are properly labeled and ready for transport.

Responsibilities include forklift pre-inspection, safe operation, pallet quality checks, inventory tagging, and maintaining a clean, safe work area while complying with all PPE and safety policies; backups may cover when needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform a pre inspection of forklift prior to operation.
• Operate the forklift in a safe and efficient manner.
• Stage orders from the finished goods cooler to the shipping dock for labeling.
• Placing finished goods in the cooler from production utilizing FIFO protocol.
• Visually inspect all pallets as they are wrapped verifying that they have the proper labels and product codes.
• Visually inspecting all pallets to ensure the pails are properly cleaned for transport.
• Sorting pallets sent to the finished goods cooler from production.
• Assuring the proper inventory tags are in place on each pallet.
• Adhering to FIFO protocol when staging pallets for shipment.
• Must keep work area clean and free of debris.
• All other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
• Must adhere to all safety policies.
• Must utilize all PPE's
• Assure the integrity of each pallet of product to be shipped.
• Assure that each trailer that is to be loaded is free of anything that would compromise the safety of the product.
• Monitor all circumstances that could pose a cross contamination risk.
• Immediately notify lead person or supervisor.
