Job summary

Dynamic-Metals in Elkhart, IN is seeking a full-time Shipping, Driver to handle local deliveries and shipping preparation. You will drive a box truck, inspect vehicles, plan routes, and crate products per customer specifications.

Requirements include a valid chauffeur’s license, forklift certification, a DOT physical, and at least two years in manufacturing. Monday–Thursday, with some Fridays, start times vary by route.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive box truck and deliver products to customers locally.
• Inspect vehicle for mechanical and safety issues and perform routine maintenance checks.
• Plan routes and meet delivery schedules.
• Inspect product prior to packaging for defects and crate as needed.
• Load and unload product, pull parts from stock for shipping.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Demonstrate safe work habits and comply with training requirements.
• Ensure confidentiality of records and perform other duties as assigned.

Main responsibility is driving and delivering locally. Must have at least a valid chauffeur's license.

Verify and keep records on outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment by performing related duties. Delivers product to customers.

Principal Responsibilities:

• Responsible for safely driving box truck and delivering products to various locations/customers.
• Inspect vehicle for mechanical and safety issues, perform routine maintenance checks.
• Plan routes and meet delivery schedules.
• Inspect product prior to packaging for anydefects.
• Build crates to fit product.
• Crate product properly (by customer pack specs whenapplicable).
• Attach identifying tags to outside container.
• Load truck with product.
• Pull parts from stock for shipping.
• Maintain a clean and clutter-freework area.
• Ability to lift required objects with or without assistance, turn, load/unload required objects.
• Demonstrate safe work habits.
• Maintain current, overall, and job specific training andrequirements.
• Ensure confidentiality of all records.
• Other duties as assigned.

Safe Practice Guidelines / Required Personal Protective Equipment:

• Safety glasses with side shields as required
• Steel toed/metatarsal safety shoes as required
• Seat belts required on all forklifts

Qualifications and Educational Requirements:
