Job summary

Lockheed Martin in Marietta, GA is seeking a skilled Woodshop Technician to fabricate shipping containers, crates, and related fixtures per military or commercial specs. You will read blueprints, apply shop math, and use power tools to cut, assemble, and secure parts for domestic and overseas shipments.

Applicants should have two years of validated woodwork experience, proficiency with saws and nail guns, and the ability to follow specifications.

Qualifications

• Two years of validated woodwork experience including finish work to sketches or drawings.
• Ability to read blueprints and follow verbal instructions.
• Knowledge of wood grades, strengths and uses; familiarity with nail sizes and fasteners.

Responsibilities

• Fabricates shipping containers, crates and related fixtures per military or commercial specs.
• Sets up and operates ripsaws, panel saws, band saws, and other power tools as needed.
• Loads and secures items for shipment on rail cars and trailers, including double-checking padding and blocking.
• Designs and fabricates templates, drill jigs and shop aids; reads blueprints and military specs to ensure accuracy.
