Job summary

Farwest Steel in Vancouver, WA is seeking a Shipping Clerk to manage daily shipping tasks, schedule transportation, and prepare bills of lading. This on-site role emphasizes accuracy, teamwork, and timely communication with warehouse and sales teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years in shipping department or related experience.
• Must have an eye for detail and be able to multi-task.
• Proficient with PCs, word processing, spreadsheets, email, and other related software.
• Previous customer service experience and knowledge of Lean and Kaizen preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedule Company trucks and coordinate inbound carrier schedules.
• Communicate truck arrival and order status with Warehouse staff.
• Prepare bills of lading and outbound material loads.
• Train staff and participate in process improvement projects.
• Coordinate with Operations to optimize shipping and inter-department efficiency.
