Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 1+ year shipping/logistics/warehouse experience preferred.
• Forklift operation certification or ability to obtain.
• Basic computer skills including data entry and use of shipping systems.
• Strong attention to detail and organization.
• Ability to lift and move shipping materials safely.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, verify, and process outgoing shipments.
• Check quantities, weights, labels, and shipping info.
• Create and maintain shipping documents (BOLs, packing slips).
• Coordinate shipments via multiple methods (LTL, parcel, air).
• Enter and maintain shipping data in SAP and systems.
• Monitor customer requirements to meet specs.
• Track returnable containers and communicate with customers.
• Load/unload/move/store materials using forklifts.
• Assemble, band, shrink-wrap shipments.
• Inspect shipments for quality and accuracy.
• Maintain shipping supplies and inventory.
• Communicate with production/receiving for smooth operations.
• Troubleshoot minor equipment and perform basic maintenance.
• Assist shipping department and back up supervisor when needed.

Shipping Coordinator Responsibilities:

• Prepare, verify, and process outgoing shipments
• Check product quantities, weights, labels, and shipping information for accuracy
• Create and maintain shipping documents, including bills of lading, packing slips, commercial invoices, shipping labels and advance shipping notices
• Coordinate shipments using various transportation methods, including LTL, parcel, expedited, air, and ocean freight
• Enter and maintain shipping information in SAP and other computer systems
• Monitor customer requirements and ensure shipments meet all specifications
• Track and manage returnable containers and communicate with customers regarding inventory levels
• Load, unload, move, and store materials using forklifts, hand jacks, hoists, and other equipment
• Assemble, band, and shrink-wrap shipments for safe transportation
• Inspect shipments before departure to ensure quality and accuracy
• Maintain shipping supplies and inventory
• Communicate effectively with production, receiving, and other departments to ensure smooth operations
• Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and perform basic maintenance and cleaning
• Assist with shipping department operations and provide backup support for the Shipping Supervisor when needed

Requirements for Shipping Coordinator:

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• At least one year of shipping, logistics, warehouse, or related experience preferred
• Ability to operate or become certified to operate a forklift
• Basic computer skills, including data entry and use of shipping systems
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to lift, move, and handle shipping materials safely
