Job summary

Sandvik is seeking a Shipping Coordinator in Alachua, Florida to manage complex shipments of large equipment, coordinate documentation, and work with internal teams to meet production schedules. You will analyze freight options, ensure cost-effectiveness, and maintain accurate shipment status.

Qualifications

• Understanding of Incoterms and their impact on shipping responsibility and risk.
• Familiarity with logistics requirements for heavy or oversized equipment.
• Working knowledge of shipping documentation, including export and freight documentation.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and compare freight quotes to ensure cost-effective transportation solutions.
• Coordinate complex shipments for large, heavy equipment including trucking and ocean freight.
• Monitor production timelines and align shipping with factory commitments.
• Collaborate with Sales Support to understand customer requirements and delivery expectations.
• Track shipments in transit and provide status reporting with milestones and delivery timelines.
• Communicate shipment updates, risks, and delays to internal stakeholders.
• Identify and mitigate scheduling conflicts, port congestion, or equipment constraints.
• Collaborate with internal teams during high-volume periods to meet shipping commitments.
• Prepare and coordinate shipping documentation such as commercial invoices, packing lists, and bills of lading.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze and compare freight quotes from carriers, freight forwarders, and logistics providers to ensure cost-effective and reliable transportation solutions
• Coordinate complex shipments for large, heavy equipment, including trucking, ocean freight, crane services, and specialized transport
• Monitor production timelines and machine readiness to align shipping schedules with factory commitments
• Partner with Sales Support to understand customer requirements, Incoterms, delivery expectations, and documentation needs
• Track shipments in transit and maintain accurate status reporting, including key milestones and delivery timelines
• Communicate shipment updates, risks, and delays clearly and proactively to internal stakeholders
• Identify and mitigate potential risks such as scheduling conflicts, port congestion, or equipment constraints
• Collaborate with internal teams during high-volume periods to meet shipping commitments
• Ensure timely preparation and coordination of shipping documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, and bills of lading

Required Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

• High School Diploma or GED required

Preferred Experience

• Experience in logistics, shipping coordination, freight forwarding, or manufacturing environments
• Experience coordinating oversized, heavy‑haul, or international shipments
• Familiarity with export requirements and global shipping processes
