Job summary

Medium is seeking a Shipping Coordinator to support overnight shipping operations. The role will coordinate short-chasing efforts, resolve inventory shortages, and ensure orders are correctly completed and loaded on time.

You will work closely with warehouse teams and leadership to improve efficiency and maintain inventory accuracy. Qualifications include 3–5 years in a warehouse environment, knowledge of WMS/ASRS/WCS interfaces, and strong communication and Microsoft Office skills.

Qualifications

• A relevant high school degree or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of experience within a warehouse or distribution environment.
• Experience in automated warehouse preferred.
• Functional system understanding Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Ability to work non-traditional business hours including evenings, nights and weekends when required.
• Strong communication skills - verbal, presentation, writing.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate overnight shipping operations to resolve inventory shortages and ensure timely order loading.
• Communicate with frontline employees and management to provide clear directions.
• Use tools to track rejects, out-of-stocks, and inventory in DMW&H and OSR.
• Operate within WMS, ASRS, WCS and case shipping system interfaces and maintain accuracy.
• Identify shorted cases and reprint labels; locate alternate inventory storage when needed.
• Maintain strong Microsoft Office skills for daily tasks.

Overview

The Shipping Coordinator supports the overnight shipping operation by coordinating short-chasing efforts, resolving inventory shortages, and ensuring orders are accurately completed and loaded on time. This role works closely with warehouse teams and leadership to improve operational efficiency, maintain inventory accuracy, and support a safe and productive distribution operation.

  • Must possess strong written and oral communication abilities; responsible for communicating with frontline employees and giving direction where appropriate, interacting with managerial staff

  • Should be familiar with night shipping operations, including tower picking, automated storage and retrieval, waving and sortation systems and loading
  • Understands and can work adeptly within software interfaces for WMS, ASRS, WCS and case shipping systems
  • Can quickly identify shorted cases to reprint labels and locate alternate storage areas for lost inventory
  • Must have strong Microsoft office skills

Compensation and Benefits

The anticipated starting salary for this role is $23 per hour to $25 per hour depending on qualifications such as experience, education, and skillset.
