Job summary

NEW LIFE TRANSPORT PARTS CENTER in Byron Township, MI, is seeking a Shipping Coordinator to efficiently pull, pack, and load small parcel orders and CPU/LTL shipments, ensuring on-time delivery with minimal oversight.

The role collaborates with internal teams, carriers, and customers, handling documentation and using shipping software while maintaining safety and quality standards. This full-time role offers weekly pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• 1–4 years of warehouse experience.
• Experience operating forklift and electric pallet jack.
• Forklift certification required.
• Comfortable in a heavy-duty warehouse environment.
• Knowledge of shipping processes and logistics.
• Familiarity with shipping software and inventory management software.
• Basic math and reading/writing skills.
• Ability to read ruler or tape measure.
• Basic computer skills (file storage, control panel, internet, email).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Process customer orders for shipment, ensuring items are picked, packed, loaded and shipped per policies.
• Prepare shipping documentation, including labels, packing slips, and invoicing.
• Ensure orders ship on time, monitor delays, escalate as needed.
• Identify short picks and escalate as necessary.
• Identify product discrepancies and communicate with management.
• Operate ERP tools such as UPS WorldShip, FedEx FreightManager, and FreightView.
• Assess performance measures like fill rate and accuracy rate.
• Follow USMCA export shipment requirements.
• Work closely with warehouse and inventory teams to match records.

Job Overview

The Shipping Coordinatoris responsible foraccurately pulling,packingand loading goods for shipment for an on-time delivery with minimal oversight. This role primarily fillssmall parcel orders,custom pick-up(CPU)ordersand some less-than-truck-load(LTL)orders. This role involves coordinating with internal teams, carriers, and customers to ensure smooth and efficient shipping operations.

Shifts Available

This position is full-time, Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 5:30pm, $19.00/hr

Responsibilities and Duties

ShippingProcess

• Processcustomer orders for shipment, ensuring that all items are picked, packed,loadedand shippedin accordance withcompany policies and customer requirements.

• Prepare shipping documentation, including shipping labels, packing slips,andinvoicing.

• Ensure that all orders are shipped out on time,monitoringany delays or issues that arise andescalatingthemas necessary.

• Identifyshort picks andescalateas necessary.

• Identifyproduct discrepancies and communicate with management.

• Perform basic tasks within the enterprise resource planning tool, UPS WorldShip, FedEx FreightManagerand FreightView.

• Assessed by performance measures of fill rate and accuracy rate.

• Follow export shipment requirements under theUnited States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA).

Quality Control

• Workclosely with the warehouse and inventory teams to ensure that shipped items match inventory records.

• Perform properpackaging of products to prevent damage during transit and ensure all items are labeled correctly for shipping, including the use of barcodes and tracking numbers.

• Assist with regular cycle counts or stock audits as needed to maintain inventory accuracy.

Work Environment

• Maintain a clean and organized workspace.

• Maintain cleanliness within the warehouse facility.

• Seek guidance from other warehouse associates to expand knowledge of shipping and warehouse operations.

• Follow the attendance policyin accordance withthe company’s employee handbook.

• Communicate effectively and efficiently with other warehouse associates and customers on shipments.

Safety

• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including hazardous materials handling and safety standards.

• Safelyoperatevarious pieces of equipment, such as electric pallet jack, wave (man lift), Taylor Dunn (stock chaser)and Forklift.

• Successfully complete the Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) training.

• Successfully complete the Hazardous Materials training.

• Comply withall other company safety policies and procedures.

Skills and Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or suitable equivalent required.

• A minimum of 1-4yearsofwork experience in a warehouse environmentrequired.

• Experience operating warehouse equipment such as a forklift and electric pallet jackrequired.

• Forklift certificationrequired.

• Comfortable working in a heavy-duty warehouse environment.

• Knowledge of shipping processes andlogistics.

• Familiarity with shipping software, inventory managementsoftwareand data entry.

• Basic knowledge of safety standards in a warehouse environment.

• Ability to read and write and perform simple mathematics.

• Ability to use and understand a ruler and/or taper measurer.

• Basic computer skills such as file storage, control panel navigation,internetand emailutilization.

• Ability to work with a diverse range of people.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Good communicationskills, both written and verbal.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry 75 lbs.individually and up to 100 lbs. with other associates.
