Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • 1–3 months related experience in manufacturing/distribution preferred or equivalent.
  • Computer knowledge preferred; JD Edwards a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Disassemble and package chairs, accessories, and related products; scan bar codes and create packaging documents.
  • Process domestic and international parcels per instructions; perform daily closing and verify shipments.
  • Learn shipping systems such as UPS World Ship, JD Edwards, and Trax.
  • Read work orders to verify finish, color, and included accessories.
  • May obtain forklift certification.
  • Report on scrap, safety, training, attendance, and purchase orders.

Job Summary

Primarily responsible for the proper boxing of finished wheelchairs, accessories, and related products for worldwide shipment. Responsible for compliance to Quality Systems Regulation (QSR).

Principal Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Responsible for knowing the proper methods and procedures to disassemble and package every model of chairs, accessories, and related products. Responsible for scanning bar code of each chair creating packaging document, JDE order inquiry, printing box label, and order configuration.
  • Responsible for processing all domestic/International parcels in accordance to work instructions. Completes daily closing, ensuring all drivers and shipments are here, loaded and have left the building.
  • Responsible for learning a variety of shipping systems such as UPS World ship, JD Edwards, and Trax.
  • Responsible for reading finished product work orders to verify: Proper product finish and color; and all order accessories are included for shipment.
  • May be required to obtain forklift operators certification.
  • Responsible for reporting on a variety of matters such as scrap, safety, training, attendance, purchase orders, etc.
  • Participates in a self-managed team. Assumes specific responsibilities on a rotating basis for activities/items such as team representative, team indicators, team meeting minutes, etc.
  • Responsible for following all applicable safety/housekeeping guidelines. Performs necessary preventative maintenance.
  • Responsible for following all CTPAT rules and regulations.
  • May work on special projects and other assignments upon request including work in other Materials areas, Assembly and Upholstery.
  • Flexes up/down the line as necessary. Responsible for learning and compliance to policies and procedures applicable to the position.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Experience
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
  • One (1) to three (3) months related experience and/or training in a manufacturing and/or distribution environment preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Computer knowledge preferred, JD Edwards a plus.
