Summary
Responsible for receiving, packaging, shipping and invoicing materials and supplies.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Provide support to the Shipping and Receiving Department Management and fulfill the requirements of that position in the Department Leader’s absence.
- Receiving – Unpack all material or supplies. Verify counts with packing slip from customer or vendor.
- Packaging – Pack all materials sufficiently so that they are not damaged during shipment. Verify counts and mark on paperwork to be invoiced.
- Invoicing – Invoice all jobs as completed, verifying count and freight charges if applicable. Print pack slip to be sent with parts.
- Shipping – Determine method of shipment from customer paperwork; if not on paperwork see Customer Service.
- Ensure any material placed on the hold table has documentation stating why the job is on hold, as well as the date and time.
- Keep the shipping and receiving area clean and organized.
- Notify the Department Leader of any shipping supplies needed in a timely manner to avoid running out of supplies.
- Consistently demonstrate, communicate and support the Company's philosophy.
- Participate in the development and maintenance of safe work procedures to include housekeeping, regular and documented safety meetings.

Education And/Or Work Experience
- Must possess excellent computer skills (Excel, Word). The department also utilizes M3, UPS WorldShip, FedEx and ShopTech E2 software.
- Must have the ability to accurately count material received and shipped.
- Must have a basic knowledge of safety and safety programs as they pertain to the machining industry.
- Must be able to work in a team environment with good verbal and written communication skills.
Technical Skills/Physical Requirements
- Lifting up to 60 pounds.
- Bending, lifting, walking, sitting, turning and repetitive motion, generally in an indoor weather‑controlled environment.
- Requires close attention to detail and safety protocols.
- Requires visual and communication skills in observation of machine work and in communicating with co‑workers; and the ability to read and understand written instructions.
