Job summary

Everlasting Valve, a U.S.-based manufacturer of severe-service industrial valves, is seeking a Shipping Clerk in South Plainfield, NJ. You will coordinate daily shipping activities, prepare goods for shipment, manage records, and support sales with timely order fulfillment.

Responsibilities include packing, labeling, selecting shipping methods, and ensuring documentation accuracy while maintaining a clean, organized shipping area and collaborating with Sales and Inventory teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with packaging equipment and handling shipments is preferred.
• Ability to operate basic shop tools and forklift is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare finished products for shipment by tagging, coding, boxing, or crating as needed.
• Move materials and products within the facility to support shipping.
• Maintain accurate records for inbound and outbound shipments.
• Coordinate shipping documentation for domestic shipments and international shipments where applicable.
• Report inventory discrepancies and assist with packaging and crating of orders.

EV manufactures engineered industrial valves for abrasive solids, slurries, high temperatures, high cycling, and other challenging process conditions.The Shipping Clerk is responsible for coordinating all daily activities within the shipping department. This includes preparing finished goods for shipment, managing inventory movement throughout the facility, packaging, labeling, and maintaining accurate records for all incoming and outgoing products. The role also involves selecting appropriate shipping methods, materials, and documentation practices for both domestic and international shipments. The Shipping Clerk plays a key role in supporting sales and customer service through timely and organized shipment handling.Key Responsibilities • Prepare finished products for shipment by tagging, coding, skidding, boxing, or crating as needed• Move materials or products throughout the facility as required• Accurately maintain records for all incoming and outgoing shipments• Transfer shipping and receiving documentation to appropriate internal departments• Accumulate and fulfill customer orders by delivery schedule• Determine and coordinate the most efficient and cost-effective shipping methods• Select appropriate packing materials and skids/containers for international shipments• Take and archive photographs of valves or parts for shipment documentation• Communicate with Sales regarding shipping timelines, part availability, or discrepancies• Report inventory discrepancies, damaged goods, or stock shortages• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the shipping area• Assist with light woodworking for crating or packaging custom orders• Ensure compliance with freight handling and trucking proceduresThe Shipping Clerk works closely with:• Plant / Operations Management• Production Team Leads• Purchasing• Sales and Customer Service• Inventory / Warehouse personnelKey Requirements • High school diploma• Basic shop training• Working with packaging equipment, general shop hand tools• Forklift experience preferredThe position requires effective communication and the ability to quickly resolve competing priorities while maintaining focus on customer commitments and plant performance.Education Level High School or equivalentExperience Level 1-2 yearsBenefits • Health/Prescription Coverage• FSA or HSA• Dental• Vision• Life Insurance• Company-match 401(k) Plan• Vacation/Sick/Paid Holidays*All benefits start on date of hirePhysical Requirements
