Job summary

Colonial Group in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a reliable warehouse associate to support receiving, picking, packing, shipping, and order inspection in a fast-paced facility. You will load and unload materials, coordinate with carriers, and ensure accurate inventory movement while adhering to safety standards.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years related experience, forklift certification, and strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Receives, locates, and transfers materials accurately and in a timely manner.
• Opens containers using hand tools; counts and weighs materials.
• Identifies damaged materials and records shortages.
• Loads and unloads materials from containers using appropriate tools.
• Coordinates shipments with carriers (UPS, FEDEX, Freight Forwarders).
• Transports materials using wheelbarrow, hand truck, forklift, or dolly.
• Assists machine operators as needed.
• Stacks and assembles materials.
• Maintains a safe, clean work environment.
• Participates in quality improvement efforts.
• Performs required administrative tasks and reports.
• Performs other duties as assigned by manager.

SUMMARY

Performs a combination of tasks including but not limited to computerized data entry, receiving, filling, shipping, and inspecting orders accurately and in a timely manner; efficiently and safely loads, unloads, and conveys materials.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Receives, locates, and transfers materials accurately and in a timely manner.

• Opens containers utilizing hand tools as needed; counts and weighs materials and records information.

• Identifies damaged materials and records material shortages.

• Loads and unloads materials onto and from a variety of containers including but not limited to trucks, conveyors, racks, pallets, and/or trays; utilizes appropriate tools to accomplish task.

• Responsible for coordinating with carriers such as UPS, FEDEX, Freight Forwarders for shipment of product to customers.

• Transports incoming and outgoing materials to designated areas utilizing appropriate tools/vehicles to accomplish task including but not limited to wheelbarrow, hand truck, forklift, electric dolly, and/or elevator.

• Assists machine operators as needed by lifting heavy objects by hand or by use of power hoist.

• Stacks and assembles materials.

• Maintains a safe, clean working environment.

• Participates in quality improvement efforts.

• Performs required administrative tasks; prepares all required reports and correspondence.

• Performs other duties as assigned by manager.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to do the following:

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• A large percentage of work time is spent in a warehouse where temperatures are seasonally cool and hot, and noise level can be moderate to high.
