Purpose/Responsibilities

This position is responsible for performing daily package operations to prepare product for shipment.

• Responsible for all outgoing shipments for FedEx, UPS, DHL and freight forwarders of inventory items under 150 lbs (small parcel shipments)
• Verify shipping paperwork (revisions, customer requirements, shipping portals, POA requirements for export documents) and fill out the appropriate paperwork for shipments as necessary
• Use a variety of web-based customer shipping “portals” to ship product to customers
• Verify accuracy and completeness of all process sheets and shipping labels when shipping inventory items to ensure quality
• Package vendor components per process, gather PO, and ship vendor components while maintaining traceability
• Assist with secondary packaging of completed assemblies
• Conduct inventory and cycle counts in the facility as a team, both weekly counts and yearly inventory
• Maintain inventory of shipping cartons and other shipping supplies such as labels and packaging materials
• Position requires interface with Production Control, Inspection, and Customer Service teams
• This individual may handle regulated (i.e. hazardous/non hazardous) waste as part of this job. They must be disposed of in accordance with federal/state regulations
• Maintain safe lifting practices daily and keep work area free of trip/slip hazards

Qualifications:

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent
• Mechanical aptitude & understanding of basic math (adding and subtracting decimals)
• Ability to read and understand prints, process sheets, and engineering specifications
• Exceptional attention to detail in a fast paced environment, ability to multi-task is a must
• Intermediate computer skills (use of web for shipping portals, use of SAP, use of several shipping applications)
• Good organizational skills
• Exceptional communication skills
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team
• Ability to sit or stand in one position for a period of time. Ability to carry pars and boxes from assigned areas to the work station.
• Dexterity of hands, some repetitive motions
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs
• Ability to adapt to changing customer requirements/policies as needed
