Job summary

Bimbo Bakeries USA in Portland, Oregon is seeking a Shipping Associate to load/unload trailers, verify loads, and keep accurate records on the shipping yard. You will count products, check quality, and report discrepancies on a fast-paced dairy and bakery distribution network.

The role requires 18+, 1–3 years shipping experience, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Medical, dental, vision and retirement plans are offered.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age.
• 1–3 years of shipping experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Comfortable working in a warm environment.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload trailers, verify route loads, and maintain the shipping yard.
• Count and check products for accuracy and quality, report variances.
• Operate material handling equipment including pallet jack and forklift.
• Troubleshoot packing equipment and label/taper/palletizer systems.

What you will be doing:

• Responsible for accurately loading and unloading trailers, verifying route load(s), trailer reports, and maintaining the shipping yard.


• Count and check products for accuracy and quality, maintain accurate records, report overages and shortages, & participate in \"Cycle Counts\".


• Operate material handling equipment; including pallet jack, forklift, etc.


• Troubleshoot issues with packing equipment, label machines, tapers, palletizers, etc.

What we need from you:

• At least 18 years of age or older.


• 1-3 Years of shipping experiencepreferred.


• Ability to lift, push/pull up to 50lbs, stack/unstack or carry, stand and/or stoop for prolonged periods of time.


• Comfortable in a warm working environment.


• Ability to communicate effectively in English.


• Ability to work Nights, Weekends & Holidays.
