Job summary

Volk, the world’s leading brand in ophthalmic diagnostic and surgical lenses and a subsidiary of Halma, is seeking personnel in Mentor, OH for shipping/receiving roles. You will package, ship, and track products, receive and inspect materials, and distribute to appropriate departments while maintaining safety standards.

Responsibilities include operating equipment, managing returns, and logging data in an ERP system, ensuring accuracy and compliance with SOPs and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with manufacturing documents and procedures.
• Ability to interpret simple instructions and SOPs.
• Basic arithmetic and data entry in ERP systems.

• Package, ship, and track products using the most cost-effective methods; coordinate with carriers and load shipments as needed.
• Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials/products; distribute to appropriate departments and manage returns.
• Operate equipment and handle materials safely, adhering to all safety practices and guidelines.
• Communicate shipping/receiving issues promptly and ensure compliance with all SOPs, QSRs, and regulatory requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Familiarity with shipping vendors and requirements
• The ability to read and comprehend simple instructions such as Manufacturing Assembly Instructions, Quality Standards and Standard Operating Procedures.
• The ability to perform simple writing tasks such as recording log entries into an ERP system, lot numbers and dates.
• The ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
