Job summary

2nd Swing Golf in Eden Prairie, MN is seeking a Shipping Associate to join our fast-paced shipping department and help ensure orders are accurate, properly packed, and shipped on time.

You will sort incoming packages, prepare shipping labels, verify quantities against documents, and collaborate with carriers to meet tight deadlines while maintaining a focus on accuracy and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age and have a High School diploma or GED.
• Ability to lift items up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to multitask, handle varying priorities, and meet deadlines consistently.
• Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude are essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist in sorting incoming packages.
• Assure orders and shipping quantities match picking documents.
• Process complete orders by creating shipping labels.
• Assemble cardboard boxes or packages for shipment.
• Insert items into boxes with padding for protection.
• Affix shipping labels identifying shipping information.
• Examine outgoing shipments to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
• Collaborate with shipping carriers to arrange pickups and dispatches.
• Assist in special projects at supervisor's discretion.
• Keep shipping stations stocked and organized.
• May drop off packages at carrier locations.
• Mentor or direct others in preparing shipments as needed.

Key Functions, Responsibilities and Tasks

• Assist in the sorting of incoming packages
• Assure orders and shipping quantities match picking documents through careful audit of documents
• Process complete orders by creating shipping labels
• Assemble cardboard boxes or other packages for shipment
• Insert items into boxes and packages using fillers and protective padding
• Affix shipping labels on boxes or packages identifying shipping information
• Examine outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications
• Assists in maintaining inventory of shipping materials and supplies
• Work with shipping carriers to ensure all packages are picked up and loaded in vehicles for shipment
• Help with or complete special projects at the discretion of supervisor or manager
• Maintain shipping stations are in working order and stocked with materials
• May be required to drop off packages at carrier locations
• May direct others in preparing outgoing and receiving incoming shipments
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed

• Previous shipping , receiving or service experience is a plus.
• Previous experience working in a shipping or receiving department
• Previous work experience with a major shipping carrier

Compensation

$16 - $18 per hour, based on experience
