Job summary

Dorn Color is seeking a Shipping and Warehouse Supervisor to lead the Shipping and Receiving team at the Berea Road plant in Cleveland, Ohio. You will manage workflows, packing, and the daily operations to ensure on-time production support.

This role reports to the Operations Manager, requires forklift operation, and a strong focus on accuracy, safety, and process adherence in a plant environment.

Qualifications

• Must have leadership experience and ability to supervise a team.
• Ability to prioritize, delegate, and coach staff.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Forklift license and ability to operate forklift.
• Proficient in basic PC skills.

Responsibilities

• Fulfill shipping, receiving, and material handling requirements according to the production schedule.
• See that all administration and procedures related to shipping, receiving and material handling are correctly processed.
• Load and unload trucks as needed; check materials for quality and counts.
• Store the products in the proper location using the proper mechanisms.
• Follow the customer specifications for packing to ensure safe handling.
• Pack material according to established procedures.
• Coordinate all freight shipments (FedEx and UPS).
• Organise and maintain all supplies for the department, reordering as needed.
• Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations.
• Properly handle, store and follow procedures associated with hazardous material/waste per EPA/OSHA standards; properly process MSDS sheets and check for labeling.
• Determine work procedures, prepare work schedules, and expedite workflow.
• Assign duties and examine work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
• Identify employees’ skills and develop them by coaching and counseling employees on a regular basis.

CONTEXT AND ENVIRONMENT

• This position is at Dorn Color plant location on Berea Road off West 114th Street in Cleveland
• The job reports to the Operations Manager
• This is currently for 1st shift
• Plant environment, may be exposed to varying temperatures.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Be able to meet the key KPI’s for the Shipping and Receiving Department
• All work must be done with the utmost safety in mind.
• Responsible for Fulfillment Department and 4th floor inventory

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• Ability to lead and supervise a team
• Ability to prioritize, delegate, follow up, provide constructive feedback and coaching
• High School diploma and/or experience
• Ability to read, comprehend instructions and communicate to carriers
• Mathematical skills
• Problem solving/sound judgment
• Ability to obtain a forklift operator’s license
• Ability to operate forklift and other equipment
• Strong PC Skills
• Able to meet the physical demands of the position
