Southeast Texas HR is seeking a Shipping and Receiving Supervisor to join our team at a Manufacturing Facility in Beaumont, TX. This will be 5 to 7 days per week, 12 hour days, and pay will be $22+ per hour DOE. This is a temp-to-hire position. You will be responsible for supervising the shipping and receiving department in order to maximize quality, safety, productivity, and profitability. Makes day-to-day decisions within department; decisions are guided by policies, procedures, business plan, and thorough knowledge of department processes. The Shipping and Receiving Supervisor will be the point person to resolve issues elevated by support staff. They will set priorities for the team to ensure task completion; contribute to the development of processes and procedures and ensure that employees operate within these guidelines. Typically, does not spend more than 20% of time performing the work supervised.
Responsibilities will include:
- Supervising the day to day shipping and receiving department, including the hiring/training of personnel.
- Supervising incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Ensures that customer delivery schedules are met; communicates turnaround times to customers and assists with any questions or escalated matters.
- May perform or assist team with more difficult skilled tasks or problem areas.
- Assists manager with implementing corporate and departmental policies, procedures, and service standards.
