The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for managing incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining records of all transactions. This role involves coordinating with various departments, handling shipping documents, and using warehouse management systems to track inventory. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greet and assist delivery drivers upon their arrival to ensure excellent customer service.
- Inspect and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing slips for accuracy.
- Unload, unpack, and organize incoming materials.
- Record and report any discrepancies or damages during receiving.
- Prepare and process outgoing shipments according to customer specifications and company procedures.
- Ensure proper labeling, packaging, and documentation for shipments.
- Coordinate with carriers and schedule pickups.
- Track shipments and update status in the system.
- Communicate shipment status and issues with internal departments and external customers.
- Address and resolve shipping or receiving inquiries.
- Maintain a safe and clean work area, reporting hazards as needed.
- Assist with warehouse tasks such as picking, packing, and storing inventory.
- Operate forklifts and other equipment safely (if certified).

Education & Training
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED or HSE).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and warehouse management systems.
- Forklift certification preferred.
Knowledge & Experience
- Experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations is a plus.
- Knowledge of shipping regulations and procedures.

- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for long periods.

Working Conditions
