Job summary

UFP Industries is seeking a Shipping and Receiving Clerk to coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, prepare paperwork, and review incoming material documentation. You will work with sales and production to schedule loads and ensure accuracy of shipments.

Qualifications

  • Minimum high school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 6 months of experience in shipping and receiving or related areas.
  • Working knowledge of DOT concepts, regulations, practices and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of proper loading techniques, weight limitations, and company procedures.
  • Proficiency with Excel, Word and Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and schedule outbound loads with sales and production.
  • Determine proper loading order and placement of product.
  • Verify shipping documents and record discrepancies.
  • Set up loads to be shipped via common carrier with outside freight companies.
  • Coordinate routing of orders and dispatch with delivery instructions.
  • Ensure paperwork meets Universal and DOT regulations and procedures.
  • Document shortages and inform sales/admin.
  • Handle tracing and expediting orders as needed.
  • Maintain documentation for incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Assist with loading/unloading material from trucks or carts.
  • Prepare reports and correspondence as required.

  • Coordinates and schedules all outbound loads and coordinates with sales and production.
  • Determines proper loading order and placement of product.
  • Verifies shipping documents and records any discrepancies.
  • Set up all loads to be shipped via common carrier with outside freight companies.
  • Coordinates routing of orders and dispatches carrier with orders and appropriate delivery instructions consistent with customer receiving times.
  • Ensures all internal/external paperwork meets all Universal as well as DOT regulations and procedures.
  • Documents any shortage on orders, investigates reasons for occurrence and informs sales and admin of the shortage.
  • Takes and acts upon all calls for tracing and/or expediting orders.
  • Maintains proper documentation and records of incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • May assist with loading and unloading material from trucks or carts.
  • Prepares various reports and correspondence as required.
  • Performs other duties as required.
