Job summary

Taylor Communications, a Taylor Corporation company, is seeking a Shipping and Receiving Clerk to join the Jeffersonville, IN team. The role covers shipping, receiving, inventory, packing, and coordination with production floors.

Shift is 1st shift, Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm, with overtime as needed. The position requires basic computer and math skills, ability to lift up to 50+ pounds, and experience with material handling equipment.

Qualifications

• Basic computer and math skills required.
• Ability to operate or be trained on material handling equipment.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
• Must be comfortable with heights up to 35 feet.

Responsibilities

• Performs shipping, handling, receiving, storing, counting, packaging, and distributing of equipment and materials.
• Inspects and verifies incoming goods against invoices; records shortages and rejects damaged items.
• Put away and manage inventory in the warehouse.
• Pull product from warehouse to deliver to the production floor.
• Pick, wrap and pack products for shipment and attach identifying information.
• Use shipping systems for FedEx, UPS, and USPS.
• Adjust to a fast-paced environment.
• Assist in monthly inventory cycle counting.
• May operate forklift or other equipment to load/unload goods.
• Perform other warehouse and shipping duties as needed.
• Assemble orders and prepare goods for shipment.
• Record shipment data (weight, charges, space availability).
• Receive and unpack materials.
• Report damages and discrepancies.
• Complete shipping/receiving reports.

Your Opportunity

Taylor Communications , a Taylor Corporation company, is looking for a Shipping and Receiving Clerk to join the team in Jeffersonville, IN.

Your Shift: 1st Shift; Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm, overtime as needed.

Your Responsibilities

• Performs the physical and/or administrative duties involved in the functions pertaining to the shipping, handling, receiving, storing, counting, packaging and distributing of equipment, materials, merchandise, and similar items
• Inspects and verifies incoming goods against invoices or other documents, records shortages and rejects damaged goods and enters into the inventory control system
• Put away and manage raw and finished goods inventory in the warehouse
• Pull product from the warehouse to deliver to the production floor
• Pick, wrap and pack products in boxes, cartons, and other containers prior to final packing for shipment and affixes identifying information to the packages
• Use various shipping systems for FedEx, UPS, and USPS
• Adjust to a fast-paced and quickly changing environment
• Assist in monthly inventory cycle counting
• May operate a forklift, hand truck, or other equipment to load, unload, transport and store goods
• Perform other warehouse and shipping duties as needed
• Assembles orders and prepares goods for shipment
• Records shipment data, including weight, charges, and space availability
• Receives and unpacks materials and supplies
• Reports damages and discrepancies for accounting, reimbursement and record-keeping purposes
• Completes shipping and receiving reports.

You Must Have

• Basic computer and math skills
• Ability to work independently, problem-solving as needed
• Ability to operate or be trained on material handling equipment
• Ability to be comfortable with heights up to 35’

Requirements Within This Position

• Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information and ideas so others will understand
• Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
• Regularly required to remain in a stationary position
• Constantly operates machinery and handles products including print materials
• Frequently required to move inside the facility
• Regularly move up to 50+ pounds (lift, push, pull and/or carry)

We Would Also Prefer

• Knowledge of operations of material handling equipment such as sit-down forklifts, electric pallet jacks, and reach trucks

The anticipated hourly range for this position is $17. The actual base offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The range listed is just one component of Taylor Corporation’s total compensation and benefits package for employees.
