Responsible for various tasks related to shipping, receiving, inventory control, and material handling. Works collaboratively to ensure order fulfillment accuracy and inventory control, and to maintain a high level of safety and quality.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Perform shipping, receiving, and inventory control duties with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Operate a hi-lo/forklift and other powered industrial equipment to load, unload, stage, and move materials and finished goods
- Support material handling, maintaining supplies and finished goods levels in the fabrication department
- Ensure accuracy of paperwork and shipments
- Coordinate truckload and less-than-truckload (LTL) pickups
- Calculate LTL freight rates and determine the best mode of transportation based on pricing and delivery times
- Practice basic First In, First Out (FIFO) procedures and perform cycle counts as needed
- Communicate with and provide support to Operations and Commercial groups
- Understand and follow all safety regulations, laws, and policies, including wearing required personal protective equipment
- Periodically lift up to 60 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, work instructions, and procedures
- Work as a team to maintain a quality level of order fulfillment, inventory accuracy, and discrepancies
- Maintain packaging and other supplies
- Assist other departments based on needs
- Work overtime when needed or required and be willing to work the occasional weekend
- Complete other tasks assigned by the Department Manager

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or GED
- At least one year of hi-lo/forklift operating experience within the past 18 months
- Shipping and receiving experience within the past three years, or five or more years of cumulative shipping and receiving experience, including inventory control, material handling, and cycle counting
- Competent computer skills with email, Word, Excel, Outlook, and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Experience with SAP Business One
- Understanding of Bill of Materials (BOM) requirements and processing
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Must be able to periodically lift up to 60 pounds
- May be expected to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Work is performed primarily in warehouse and shipping areas where exposure to moderate noise, temperature variation, and powered industrial equipment may occur. Required personal protective equipment must be worn in those areas
