Job description

Factory Direct Marine & RV is seeking a Shipping and Receiving Clerk. The ideal candidate has prior professional experience in this or a related field and is comfortable working a 40-hour work week.

Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

1. Determine method of shipment; prepare bills, invoices, and other shipping documents.
2. Receive merchandise, check and sign delivery slips, and assist with unloading as necessary.
3. Inspect and verify incoming goods against invoices or other documents, record shortages, and reject damaged goods.
4. Accept or return merchandise according to established company procedures. Calculate prices, affix bar codes, prices, and security tags as necessary.
5. Organize distribution and shipping of merchandise. Verify documents, unpack, and route goods to appropriate storage areas.
6. Operate forklift, hand truck, or other equipment to load, unload, transport, and store goods.
7. Maintain internal record-keeping systems.
8. Contact resource persons, transport companies, and suppliers to expedite, trace, or return merchandise that does not conform to specifications or purchase orders.
9. Assemble containers and crates, pack goods for shipping, and prepare identifying information and shipping instructions.
10. Follow safe storage and handling procedures for various chemicals and materials.
11. Follow proper shipping procedures for fragile goods.
12. Take inventory, maintain storage areas, and ensure the area is secure at all times.
